Maroma Resort & Spa
Riviera Maya, Luxury
Maroma Resort & Spa is a secluded, luxurious rustin, villa-style hideaway on Mexico's
historic Yucatan Peninsula, built in the tradition of Mexican haciendas. It is bordered by one
of the world's longest barrier reefs, providing world-class scuba and snorkeling, while also
protected by 200 acres of jungle preserve populated with exotic birds and iguanas.
This romantic resort is made up of several white stucco buildings with thatched roof terraces
to maximize views and privacy. The buildings are joined by winding stone pathways, and
lined with lush foliage and over 100 torches each evening; a labyrinth of paths bordered with
clipped hedges and terracotta pots leads guests beneath lush palms and jungle flowers of
every color around the magnificent property. In the 2008 issue of Travel + Leisure, Maroma
was selected as one of the 500 best hotels in the world.
Guest rooms, renowned for their most
luxuriously romantic baths, provide delicious
comforts and tranquility just steps away from
the sparkling beach.
Room interiors feature curved lines, Mexican
tiles and carved lighting niches that define
sensuality. All guest rooms offer ocean or
garden views, hand-loomed bedding and rugs,
private terraces with sofas and/or double
hammocks and bamboo shutters.
In addition to the fine-dining El Sol and the casual El Restaurante, guests will enjoy the light
fare and juice bar offered at Cilantro, adjacent to the spa. Custom design a special private
'dinner to remember' on the beach - consult with the chef who will help you create the
perfect evening! Bars offer tequila specialties and light snacks throughout the day.
Maroma offers a variety of choices on and off-property. Guests will find every imaginable
water sport offered either on the beautiful Maroma Beach or at nearby marina: diving, sport
fishing, kayaking, parasailing, sailing, swimming with dolphins. The fabulous reefs
surrounding Maroma invite you to see the huge variety of corals, colorful fish and
extraordinary creatures that live just under the surface right off the resort's beach. The
currents are gentle so you don't have to be a strong swimmer or an expert to enjoy
incredible adventures in the water.
Guests can also enjoy the use of the three swimming pools, the Cultural Palapa, or the golf
course located nearby. Or take a few classes and learn something new - Spanish lessons,
cooking and tequila classes and more are offered. The new spa is a healing sanctuary
which offers a full range of spa services in unique environments ranging from treatment
rooms with private gardens, open-air massage palapas, and a rooftop yoga pavilion with
360-degree views of Maroma´s dual ecosystems – the jungle and the sea.
