Ladera
St. Lucia, All-Inclusive, Luxury
The Ladera is an exercise in luxurious simplicity on St. Lucia's southwest end, frequently a
retreat for those who seek total privacy from the outside world. Outside the town of
Soufrière, this hideaway is perched on a hillside 330m (1,080 ft.) above sea level. With
views of Jalousie Bay -- perhaps the most stunning vistas you'll find on St. Lucia.
The suites and villas are in the fashion of luxurious tree houses and Ladera's new spa, Ti
Kai Pose, was recently added to the premises with a full-line of spa treatments to help you
further relax. Guests don't come here for the beach (which is a 15- to 20-minute
complimentary shuttle ride away), they come for the lovely setting, gracious service, and
complete privacy.
Guestrooms are furnished with 19th-century
French furniture, wicker, and accessories built
by local craftspeople. Unique touches are in all
the rooms: sinks made of shells, or open,
rock-walled showers.
All rooms afford their guests total privacy and
have indoor gardens and plunge pools. Many
have four-poster queen-size beds draped in
mosquito netting. Tropical breezes cool the
rooms, which are not air-conditioned.
From helicopter tours to whale watching, Ladera staff can arrange for a variety of activities
for guests. Spend the day scuba diving and explore the rich and diverse tropical sea life of
the protected coral reef. Guest may also enjoy island tours, deep sea fishing, rainforest
hiking and sailboat excursions. The pool at the Ladera Resort, rumored to be the first infinity
pool ever built, bends and bows as it parallels the naturally organic shapes of its
surroundings.
Dasheene, Ladera's on-site restaurant, is known for its eclectic, innovative cuisine. At
Dasheene's, guests can sip cocktails at the Tcholit Bar, enjoy live music, and indulge in the
delicacies, both local and international, that make Dasheene one of the Caribbean's finest
dining experiences.
